Nature Journaling
Immerse yourself in nature with ABNC’s Nature Journaling Workshops!
Dates: January 31st - Dwarf Palmetto
Price: $20 Non-members, $15 Members
Reconnect with the wild spaces of the Gulf Coast through the lens of an artist and the mind of a naturalist. This immersive workshop invites you to slow down, look closer, and document the intricate beauty of the Texas coastal tallgrass prairie and bayou ecosystem.
Whether you are a seasoned artist or someone who hasn't picked up a pencil since grade school, this nature journaling workshop is designed for all skill levels. The goal is not "perfect art," but a deeper connection to the natural world.
Teachers can earn 2 SBEC hours for participating in this activity. Please indicate when booking that you would like to receive SBEC hours.
How it works:
Upon arrival, please check in at the front desk to meet your instructor and fellow participants for a brief introduction to the day's subject. The group will then move to the designated workshop area, where all necessary journaling supplies will be provided and ready for use. The session begins with a review of curated photo references and naturalist info sheets, followed by a guided sketching process. Throughout the workshop, your instructor will integrate technical art tips with naturalist commentary, helping you document the unique beauty of Armand Bayou.
