Ambassadors Up Close is an interactive, 30-minute program that introduces you to the wonders of Texas wildlife. Led by our expert zoologist and animal care staff, you’ll learn the unique stories of our animal ambassadors and their vital roles in the wild. Each session includes an educational presentation and an opportunity for guests to ask questions about the ambassadors. To further the hands-on experience, select ambassadors will be available for guests to pet.

Purchasing tickets ahead of time is suggested. Guests will check in at the front desk, receive their tickets, and make their way back to ABNC’s Environmental Learning Center, where the program will take place.

Meet our amazing animal ambassadors! Our knowledgeable Zoologist will explain what they eat, how they have adapted to live in our area, and how they came to call ABNC their home. You will also have the opportunity to take a photo with one of the animals (no flashes please), and some you will be able touch.

This is a unique experience that is sure to fill up quickly!

Teachers can earn 1 SBEC hour for participating in this activity. Please indicate when booking that you would like to receive SBEC hours.

Know before you go:

  • Closed toed shoes are required for all programs. (No Sandals, Slides, Crocs, etc.)

  • This program is for all ages. Children under 4 years are welcome to attend, but we are limiting their numbers to 5 per session.

  • We are limiting the number of total guests to 30 per session

  • Please bring a reusable water bottle.

  • We recommend that you bring insect repellent, hat, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing as needed for the weather.

Cancellations:

Payment of fees is needed to complete your registration and is non-refundable unless the program/class/activity is cancelled by Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) staff. If ABNC cancels for any reason, you will be given the option of applying the fees to another program or a refund. You will be notified the day prior if the minimum number of 8 guests has not been reached.

If you must cancel, please notify ABNC at least seven (7) days prior to the program/class/activity. If you inform us at least one week before, we will issue you a credit voucher for the full amount of your payment that may be applied to another ABNC program fee or a membership. Any non-attendance or cancellation less than seven (7) days will result in the full charge of the fee. ABNC does not give cash refunds.
