Come explore Armand Bayou with us!
Join us for a guided tour of Armand Bayou to explore the wetlands, see our local wildlife, relax, and have fun. You’ll have a chance to see numerous birds, reptiles, and deer who are starting their day at the water's edge.
Beginner and experienced kayakers are welcome.
Our knowledgeable guides are ACA certified and will give a brief orientation on kayaking before the trip.
Price: $50 per person
Teachers can earn 3.5 SBEC hours for participating in this activity. Please indicate when booking that you would like to receive SBEC hours.
Know before you go
The tour will be approximately 2-3 miles round trip
Each kayak will hold 1 person
Participants should be able to lift 30 lbs and paddle for 3 hours
Participants are required to wear life jackets, which will be provided
The weight limit for our kayaks is 375 pounds
The max capacity for our kayak tours is 12 people
Participants must be 16 or older and an adult must accompany children under 18
Reservations must be made in advance and payment is required at the time of reservation
Tours begin with a five minute guided walk down our boardwalk leading to our new Shell Trailhead Circle. From there you board our electric vehicle for a half mile ride down to our kayak launch
Bring more than enough water for yourself!
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, and wear clothes and shoes that can get wet
Cancellation Policy
Payment of fees is needed to complete your registration and is non-refundable unless the program/class/activity is cancelled by Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) staff. If ABNC cancels for any reason, you will be given the option of applying the fees to another program or a refund. A minimum number of five people is required for the trip to launch. You will be notified the day prior if the minimum number has not been reached.
If you must cancel, please notify ABNC at least seven (7) days prior to the program/class/activity. If you inform us at least one week before, we will issue you a credit voucher for the full amount of your payment that may be applied to another ABNC program or membership. Any non-attendance or cancellation less than seven (7) days will result in the full charge of the fee. ABNC does not give cash refunds.
