Martyn Farm Harvest Festival
Come join us down on the Martyn Farm Saturday and Sunday, November 11-12, from 10am-4pm, as we travel back in time to the end of the 19th century during our 37th annual Martyn Farm Harvest Festival. Young and old alike will enjoy witnessing a variety of crafts and activities, such as blacksmithing, hoe cake making, sugar cane syrup cooking, and soap making. The kids will enjoy a variety of crafts, games and candle making. Buy freshly made country jams and other goodies in our Martyn's Mercantile country store. Enjoy a variety of demonstrations such as quilting, lace making, butter churning (yummy samples are always provided) and square dancing. Plenty of food and drinks will be available to enjoy at our picnic area. For dessert, why not sign up for the pie eating contest?
Admission is only $12 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. You won't find a more pleasant, family-friendly way to spend the day. Don't forget to ask for your ABNC membership discount.
On site parking $3. Space is limited. Free parking and shuttle ride from UHCL Lot D.
Bayou City Eco-Almanac
ABNC is proud to announce the introduction of a new series of video shorts called the Bayou City Eco-Almanac. Collaborating with our friends and partners at the University of Houston Clear Lake, these videos are designed to encourage community eco-literacy and open our eyes to the richness of life right in our own backyard. Topics will change along with the seasons, but the message that persists is to get outside and reconnect with nature.
