Sunset with the Birds
Colonial nesting water birds occur along the length of the Texas coast. Every spring and summer, these birds gather to raise their young, typically on nesting islands or within wetlands. In 2008, a new nesting colony or “rookery” was established at Armand Bayou Nature Center. Since its establishment, the number of nests has increased significantly.
Join us for an incredible viewing opportunity, right in our own backyard.
Mr. Mark Kramer, Chief Naturalist at Armand Bayou Nature Center, will present this tour. There will be a discussion of the ABNC rookery history, ecology and the species, which compose it population. We will meet at the rookery for a relaxing evening. Please bring your binoculars, lawn chairs, snacks and drinks.
