Pond Life Training
For individuals who would like to explore the ponds during the cooler months. Compare macroscopic and microscopic specimens, basic identification, collection and recording techniques and classroom activities. This class will provide you with 2 SBEC hours.

Hands on History Training
This class will take you through life in the 1895 era at the Martyn Farm and Hanson House. By comparing and contrasting a day in the life of a family in the 1890's and a family in the 2000's we can ask important questions about the direction of our current society and stewardship of the environment. Some topic areas discussed are: organizing tasks and chores, education, communication among others, entertainment, recreation and holidays, healthcare, religion, justice and legislation. Beginning Insect Investigations

CP Chem "Connections" Training
Receive interpretation training for elementary students while "getting into nature" with hands on lessons in the three ecosystems, (prairie, forest, and wetlands), here at ABNC. Curriculum guide and 3 SBEC hours daily. Volunteer docent commitment is requested following training. This training is with a "pilot class" for those who took the training previously or would like to "buddy." Call Heather 281-474-2551x14

Birthday Party Etiquette
How do reptiles, amphibians and cake and ice cream go together? Volunteer training for ABNC members who are planning to assist with or lead birthday parties at the center. Guide and advanced training hours are offered. Call Heather 281-474-2551x14 to reserve a spot.
WET in the City
Water Educator Training FACILITATOR TRAINING
At Armand Bayou Nature Center in the Pole Barn.
Become a certified trainer for WET in the City programs. Previous WET training for educators is recommended. You will receive 12 hours of SBEC and TEEAC credit plus TEKS correlated curriculum guide and CD-Rom with your completion of training. Questions and to register, call Lanese at 713-520-1936

Owl Pellet Dissection Lab for Educators
Or for those of you whooo have never dissected an owl pellet or would like a refresher. Demonstration of raptor species, adaptations, general information, actual dissection. This class will provide you with materials to support your lab.
