We have a dedicated staff who all wear many hats as they go about their day at the
nature center. Mark and George have been here the longest and have primary responsibility
for stewardship of our natural resources, but Mark also handles the educational
pontoon boat tours and George answers those visitor questions that stump the rest
of us. We are lucky to have Chris aboard as a part time stewardship tech (supported by a grant)
to help out with invasive species control and supervision of volunteer stewardship activities.
Accounting duties are
handled by Susan. Shauna coordinates our educational programs and our annual Creepy Crawler
event, and really "keeps the outing in scouting". Heather is our Education Director, and she
teaches classes and scout workshops and helps with volunteer activities. Barbara is at the
front desk, and she keeps us all coordinated, books birthday parties and rentals, and answers
many visitor questions. Our animals are glad Megan takes good care of them. Come by on a
Sunday, and Dick will greet you, but he's also likely to be the staff here late closing
after a wedding or other event. Our Volunteer of the Year for 2004, Lew, volunteers as our
facilities coordinator and resident historian. In addition to many administrative tasks,
Jimmy is our new facilities coordinator. Sue is the Interim Executive Director. A great group of folks at a wonderful place!
